REMHOOGTE WINE ESTATE is situated on south and south west facing slopes in the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch. They have spectacular views of the mountains of Stellenbosch to the South and Table Mountain to the West. A section of the farm has been set aside as a game area, and Zebra, Wildebeest, Springbok and Eland bring the spirit of Africa to the wine lands of the Western Cape. The 60 ha estate is owned and run by the Boustred family, and strives to produce small quantities of red wine of finesse and quality. Michel Rolland, the world renowned wine consultant and producer from Bordeaux, was so impressed by the Merlot from Remhoogte that he chose to become a partner in the cellar. Each year Michel Rolland assesses the wines produced from the vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinotage and more recently Shiraz, and creates the three blends produced by Remhoogte. www.remhoogte.co.za  Murray Bustread - Winemaker
