A brilliant light straw color with subtle luminous green hue. The aroma is a complex combination of lime, sweet orange and fresh dates with underlying flintiness. The palate has elegantly restrained flavors of lime, nectarines and almonds.
This elegant wine is refined, poised, with perfectly judged oak framing citrus and peach dash. 10 months in new French oak named after Eleanor Finlayson.
We harvested our first Chardonnay grapes on the 7th of March 2006 at a very low 2 ton/ha. The fruit was in excellent condition with a very good analysis resulting in 13,5% alcohol, 1,8gm/l of residual sugar and 7gm/l of acid. The oak regime largely determines the style of wine and we believe oak should be used sparingly to ensure we express the fruit from our vineyard in the Chardonnay. Only 250 cases of what promises to be an exceptional Chardonnay will be released in January 2007.
Refreshingly mineral with plenty of citrus and strong nutty character. The wine is full with soft tannins, which ensure many years of positive development. Pinot Noir is the most food flexible varietal. Its richness comes from a multitude of layers of flavor. Enjoy with fish, poultry, game birds, and red meats.

Missionvale Chardonnay has long been a wine of intense pride. This is an intensely focused wine of near perfect balance. It is fresh, marginally oaked for six months with an almost white peachy crispness, mixed with a complex yeasty orchestration of flavors. It ends with a tang of richness which lasts a full minute on the palate. With time it will slowly become even more interesting as its nuttiness and complexity continues to develop.
More tropical than grassy and more delicate than overpowering; pure fruit tones and good balance. Clean gooseberry aromas with a touch of smoke and mineral character. Acidity in harmony with good strong mouth feel, fresh and enticing. More body than in previous vintages and its palate cleansing freshness lends itself to a range of fish and seafood dishes.
This delightful sweet wine under Fantail shows flavors of nectarines, peaches and mango on the nose. The palate is very pleasing, crisp and surprisingly light. A real summer treat! 100% Chenin Blanc
On the nose this wine shows refreshing flavors of citrus and tropical fruit. These flavors follow through on to a luscious palate which ends with a lingering crispness.
The spicy richness on the nose gives way to a taut yet floral and fruity mid-palate that has both richness and complexity. The sugar is barely noticeable and if anything it contributes extra fullness and richness to the palate. This is a quality wine that offers great value and much versatility. “Impressive 2006 abounds with aromatic charm, pineapple, honeysuckle, tantalizing spicy notes. Off-dry but signature balancing acidity, elegance and length make it irresistibly delicious.” Subtly sweet pineapple and honeysuckle in the mouth, underlined by a hint of soft citrus. This incredibly versatile food wine has a cult following in South Africa.
